A Big Influence On My Identity

Identity are the things that make yourself, like friends. Friends can influence how you act and look, like your appearance. Your family could be a big impact in who you are whether it’s a family member very sick, or your parents lost their job. Even your athletic career. All of these things influence your identity. I believe that my sport career (basketball), my religion, and my family are a huge part of my identity. First, my family is a big influence on my life. My parents are happily married and my brother is only two years older than me so we are pretty close. My closest grandma died about a year ago and my aunt moved to Montana from Boise so now I have no relatives close. My family is very spread out across the U.S. but one of my favorite times is when all of my cousins, aunts & uncles, and grandparents meet and we have a family reunion. My last family reunion was in the summer of 2013, we had one with my mom’s side which is the only side I have cousins. We either gather in Phoenix, Arizona or Sandpoint Idaho, we have family in both of those places. I am a Christian and I think that that makes me a better person. For example, it makes me act better like not swearing or bullying When I go to church and Iḿ with my friends and we all just sing, pray, and talk about god I feel safe. Sometimes when I have a problem I listen to Christian music or I just pray and I feel better. I have gone to four different churches in my life, three in Boise and one in North Carolina where I used to live. Currently I go to Foothills church on state street and we’ve been going there for about 5 years
