A big influence to my personality and my behavior have been developed because I have to deal with differences. By being in the 21st century, I radically oppose oppression and exploitation of people. Since I am Asian American, I am different from many other Americans. Although being different can bring benefits, it also makes life difficult because I am not your average white American. Many instances of discrimination can happen because I am a person of color in the United States. Under the summer heat in Lower Manhattan, I have witness discrimination firsthand with my cousin.
On thursday, I decided to go to Chinatown, however, this time was special. My cousin Nancy, was in the city and I have not seen her for year. Nancy, coming from Charlotte, North Carolina, never truly experienced an environment where it is culturally diverse, she lived around others with white picket fences and well groomed lawns. She did not have anything planned so I wanted to be able to show her more of the Chinese culture. I decided to take name around Chinatown

We slowly trekked our ways through the brand name stores in Soho until Nancy got tired. Knowing that Nancy is vegetarian, he didn’t seem to have many options in the industrial neighborhood. We decided to go to Starbucks and order each other drinks. Opening the door, Nancy accidentally bumped into a white woman who wearing a white leather blazer. She was so embarrassed that she stuttered as she apologized and made it sound very broken. Nancy, now embarrassed, then started to speak Chinese to me and made a joke about how clumsy she was. When I started laughing, I saw that the white woman, glaring at us. I shrugged it off and continued to order a strawberry ice tea for her and she ordered a vanilla bean frappe with three pumps of raspberry syrup for

Hispanics, Latinos, and Mexican-Americans, whether legal or not, have been discriminated against in the United States since they came to the land said to be built upon freedom and equality. They have became an ethnic, social, and linguistic minority in a vastly white English speaking majority. Through appealing to morals, examples of discrimination, and the use of statistics, Gibson emphasizes the urgency and magnitude of the problem of Hispanic discrimination in America. By appealing to the morals of his non-Hispanic audience, Gibson effectively proves that discriminating against Hispanics is clearly the wrong thing to do and that our society needs to come together to stop this problem. He begins his argument by saying what truly “makes…

Introduction I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in the nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but the content of their character. This are the powerful words of Martin Luther king Jr as he stood against discrimination.
