99 days is about a teenage girl named Molly who ran away from home after her mother betrayed her by writing a best selling novel about how Molly cheated on a boy named Patrick Donelly, with his brother Gabe Donelly. When Molly comes back home everyone in the town knows what she did. Molly used to be super close to Gabe and Patrick’s sister Julia, but after what Molly did, Julia is her worst nightmare. Really, the only people in town that are talking to Molly are her mom and Gabe. Before Molly left town she had a best friend named Imogen that she would do everything with and tell her biggest secrets to, but when Molly left she didn’t tell her she was leaving, she didn’t even tell her about what she did. Molly just wants to stay in her room and watch documentaries and eat red vines , but Gabe is making it difficult for her to do that. Since Gabe is really her only friend she is always hanging out with him and even finds herself falling in love with him, that is until the night of the party. After Molly cheated on Patrick she felt awful as if she killed somebody. She confided in her mom with what she did and she thought she could be trusted with something this big. Molly’s mom is a writer, she writes amazing books about molly. Molly knew this, but I guess she thought her mom wouldn’t turn this into a book. Molly didn’t know that her mom was working on a book until it was published. When the book was published Molly felt betrayed like she couldn’t trust anyone. When Patrick knocked on her door her heart dropped. She knew why he was there. She didn’t know how to tell him so she just kept it hidden, but now the secret was out. She tried explaining but he didn’t want an explanation, he wanted to know if it was true. He got the answer he expected. After that everyone in town knew.
