Tragedies are occurring everyday causing devastation and pain to people all around the world. On September 11, 2001 the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center effected everyone in the utmost way, leaving them in pain and sorrow. With four different hijacks and attacks up to 3,000 people died and more were severely injured. All Americans will remember this day as the most tragic day in history. The terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center impacted history greatly due to the fact that many people’s lives changed that day, our country went to war, national security was upgraded, and our nation came together to support one another. September 11, 2001, people were roaming the streets as they normally would on any other Tuesday morning.

Flight 77 was headed towards the Pentagon Military Base, with sixty-four passengers aboard (9/11 Attacks). Many people would die when the plane hits the expected target. At 9:40 am Flight 77 crashed into the west side of the Pentagon killing all sixty-four passengers (Lalley). Every passenger on the plane had a family member who would remember this day as the worst day of their life. The crash at the Pentagon killed 125 military personnels and sixty-four innocent civilians (9/11 Attacks). Military families will remember their beloved ones being killed in one of the safest places, the Pentagon. The last plane that was hijacked was Flight 93, the only one that did not hit its target out of the four hijacked planes (Schmenmann). Even though it did not hit its target, the passengers inside would still die. The passengers heard the news about four planes being hijacked and soon realized their plane was one of them. The commuters quickly made a plan to overtake the terrorist and to take charge of the plane (9/11 Attacks). The passengers made a brave decision to save many other people’s lives. Making that decision must of been a tough discussion knowing that they all had family members waiting for them to return. When the passengers took over the plane they crashed it in a vacant field in Pennsylvania, making sure nobody else would die (Lalley).
