Every step Kevin took seemed to cause a wave, as if he was walking on water. A great ocean of land mass. Everything around Kevin became more and more surreal. The shades Kevin had put in his pocket began to tempt Kevin, as if they were communicating to him. He had a deep urge to put them on. Just one more time, Kevin thought. As if every step he took didn’t make any progression. He was close to giving up until he began to see the Divine Watch on the horizon. Finally! He thought. Now that everyone was frozen, he began to realized how much he missed one on one conversations with everyone, including people he didn’t necessarily talk to often. This began to sink deeper and deeper into his conscious. Contradicting his deep devotion to stop using the shades, he put them on and thought about his friend Josh.
Josh came out of the ground as if the dirt and mud had made a sculpture of him. “Josh!” said Kevin. Kevin began to notice something wrong with Josh, he didn’t seem to be moving or blinking. The shades could only bring a clone of a person but not the actual person. So as Josh stood there motionless like a mannequin, Kevin stood there staring at him, and then continued on his way.
Kevin has reached the base of the mountain. “Why does it look bigger than when I last saw it?” Kevin said out loud as if someone was listening. He began his treacherous climb to the peak. Hand after hand, foot after foot, Kevin began to get weary and tired. He kept on pushing. No quitting he thought as his arms and calves went numb. The Divine Watch was indeed taller and was growing by the hour. This pushed Kevin to go faster and push harder. He was near the peak. His hands bleeding and scrapes all over his body as if he was at war. To him this was war, war to get
