1. 9/11 was a tragic day in our nation. Not only did our country lose approximately 3,000 people who were family, neighbors, and friends, but it also left our world in a state of confusion and total chaos. Overall, our president handled the situation the best he could with the information that was held at the time of the event. The bottom line was the US was not prepared for that magnitude of devastation and as a nation our guard was down concerning terrorist activity. As acting president, I would have had homeland security in place of the first world trade center attack in 1993. Bin Laden and al- Quada was already on our radar so perhaps, the homeland security department could have been another tool to prepare our country in handling
