The sky is blue, morning blue, when the sun is just rising, at about 6 o’clock. The chilly Autumn morning made me feel safe as I peered out the dew lined window. Leaves blew across the street, yet not too many because it's early in the season. Its nice to look out, seeing the smoke come out of the chimneys from the warm homes where everyone is asleep this sunday morning. Then out of the corner of my eye, amongst the beautiful fall scenery and warm houses was a guy, creeping out the back mill door. I couldn't make out his face, but it looked very suspicious, all dressed in blue, walking out of the mill which had been closed for years now. This reminds me of what happens in those horror movies where the murderer comes and tries to kill the witness before a hero steps in. Slipping into jeans, a sweatshirt all wrinkled from my messy floor and a pair of old boots my mother always insists that I should throw away, I begin to go downstairs. My family responds pretty casually with a lot of things and luckily, being able to go out is one of those things, of course they never said what time is okay, but today is an exception I think. Quietly opening the door, I clop down the stairs and open the gate at the end of our property with a metallic screech. A few leaves scatter by and the place seems so desolate and empty, almost echoing with the footsteps that are lost in the wind. Its interesting how a place so populated could be so quiet. The fall air blows swiftly across the street against me as I begin walking towards the blue covering that flapped in the wind. It was about 50 yards from my house, and the mill is right next to it.
