September 11th, 2001 was a tragic day for the United States. Erin Siegel told CNN “It’s hard to live in the shadow of 9/11...It was particularly painful for me because I was fighting with my dad when he died, and for a very long time I blamed myself and wished that we could have resolved it, that we could have parted on better terms. I would’ve traded years of my life to have made that come true. Eventually, after being adrift in that thick darkness for a long time, bargaining gave way to a different strategy: keeping him with me” (9/11 Children:). Soon after 9/11 Bush presented a speech called “Axis of Evil”. He presented this speech on January 29th, 2002. Bush is informing us Iran, Iraq, and North Korea. So Bush speaking confidently about this topic is comforting for the many citizens who were affected by 9/11. “Standing up straight is one of the most important of our top 10 tips to project confidence through body language” (Top 10 Ways). Bush opens his speech by saying “Mr. Speaker, Vice President Cheney, members of Congress, distinguished guests, fellow citizens, as we gather tonight, our nation is at war, our economy is in recession and the civilized world faces unprecedented dangers. Yet the state of our union has never been stronger” (George W. Bush) When telling the viewers and people listening that our country is at war, can scare people in a way, but he ends his sentence with saying that We as a country have never been stronger. “Confident people are always looking up, never down at the table, the ground, or their feet," she says.
