8th Grade School Strengths

Decent Essays
This 8th grade school year has been hard. As always, school is easy at the beginning but now that its is almost over, it is getting complicated. We did one of the most important projects in the first week of June and we are still working on another one. At school, my strengths are Math and Science. In a way, Math and Science are connected and I am good at Math. Math is also my favorite class. My weaknesses are Social Studies and ELA. In Social Studies, we do summaries of a specific section and it is not easy for me to do the summaries because there is too much information. ELA is just not easy for me. The homeworks and the projects are the reasons why ELA is not easy for me. I have grown as a writer. At class, we learned the way to do better

There are many conclusions you can draw about the challenges of being an eighth grader. One of the problems are social expectations. If you want to be a part of certain groups, you would have to get a boy/girlfriend. “If you want to want to be accepted in the cliques, it seems like a boyfriend is your first priority.” (Amy Jenkins 14)…

*Strengths developed When I was in the Scouts, I got a lot of experience selling popcorn and camp cards, which are basically just coupon sets, to get money to go to summer camp. This experience made me comfortable approaching people and asking them for something. I definitely had a much higher success rate with chalk art than I did with camp cards and popcorn though. I’m not sure how much of that is from me getting better at approaching people, and how much of it is due to the fact I wasn’t asking anyone for money, but I’ll count it as a win. *Challenges encountered and how you overcame them After finishing the chalk drawings, when it was still morning before many people had shown up, it was very easy to engage people walking by.…

The first nine weeks of school I have been struggling because I have been slacking and not been focusing as much I should have been and some of my grades are reflecting it. High School have so many different distractions but you have to learn how to stay focused on your work no matter what because your work comes first. Classes this semester were challenging honestly because all of them are harder than all my previously years of school from Ms. Aurelian’s World History class to Math Two. In math two class it took me a while to get back into the understanding of it because I hadn’t did math in a good while so I had forgotten things but towards the middle and end of the first nine weeks I started to get my groove back and perform better in class. My World History class it is just a lot of note taking and comprehension and a lot of studying and test that by far is my hardest class because I do not like to study at all and in return of me…
