Graduation speech Juan C
“Nothing is over until the moment you stop trying.”- Bryan Dyson
Being Comfortable has been a real struggle for me these past years i’ve been here in holmes.6th grade for a 5th grader is scary, not knowing what is coming for you. 7th grade becomes easier because you already have an idea of how junior high is. 8th is all about reflecting over 6th and 7th grade. But it’s not always about problems, stress and sadness, there's also good times, like when we went to camp duncan in 6th grade, when I performed in the V-Show in 7th grade, And when went to Great America.

Welcome parents, students, and staff to the Graduation Of the Class of 2K16.

Sixth Grade for me was scary.

It started off going well. I continued making friends, but some of those friends were not the best influences on me. Some of them rubbed off on me, and I started not to care about school and got in trouble a lot. My teachers began to notice and involved my mom. People were concerned that I was not myself anymore. My mom is the one person who helps me make good decisions. When she found out I was on a wrong path, she had a talk with me and told me to change. She told me that if I kept it up, high school would be twice as hard. I took that talk seriously and tried to mature. This helped me as I transitioned to an 8th grader. The summer break actually helped me think a lot of how I was and what had to change.

The break ended and I became an 8th grader

8th grade for me was about regrets. Everything was was different, people were starting to turn fake, and school was getting harder. Some of us have excitement on their minds other regrets. The fact that 6th and 7th grade not taken seriously made 8th hard and stressful. I had realized that I should’ve taken it seriously.

These past weeks I’ve done my best to try and change. I am very grateful that what happened in 6th grade and 7th grade I wouldn't be who I was, and I wouldn't have learned the lesson that I know

I’ve been in school for about 11 years, every year is different, but yet the same. Because we are at the same school for years, it’s the same people, same school, and same everyday routine. Some years are better than others, but the overall best year that I’ve experienced is or was, 8th grade. My 8th grade year was one of the most stressful and difficult in my life. I was taking on a high school math course, Algebra 1, while also balancing a 9 month research project, National History Day, and my First Lego League robotics team. While I was experiencing pressure from all of these, I realize now that I put the most pressure on myself. However, it was through this trial that I learned more about myself and how I manage stress. 8th grade year was the most challenging, but it is the most influential in me becoming the person I am now.…

Well, eighth grade is the final year of middle school, meaning that I have to go to high school next year. My Freshman year was very different for me because I had changed from Franklinton Middle School to Bunn High School. I hated it at Bunn because I did not fit in and I felt like a outcast. There was some crazy looking people there but I am not the type to judge but they were some weird people. After a few days people started letting me sit with them because I would sit at lunch by myself.…

Three years elapsed, and with those years gone, so were my hardships. The start of my fourth year marked the turning point for me and what made my final year in high school a memorable one. Unlike the years prior where my opinion didn’t matter, my senior year was when I was finally recognized and praised for my abilities. I felt like I was an asset to the team rather than someone who was just taking up space. I was given first priority when the time had come to pick numbers.…

Greetings, Class of 2023. Today, we get to celebrate the culmination of our thirteen years of hard work in school with graduation, and I have been asked to deliver this year’s commencement speech. I would like to thank all of the people that have brought us here: family members, teachers, principals, and people who would go out of their way to encourage us to keep trying hard even in the midst of failure. Without you, we would not be standing on this stage today. I would like to start by defining the word “commencement.”…

Through all the baby steps I’ve taken in my life so far, my mom has been alongside me being supportive.
