In the story,“7th Grade” Victor learns that if he really wants to get a girl, then it’s worth it to get embarrassed and laughed at through his embarrassing dilemmas. For example, when Victor’s Eenglish teacher asks him to say a proper noun, he automatically says,’“Teresa,’”,and some of the girls giggled” (para 24). Due to his response, everybody knows Victor likes Teresa, so the girls chuckled when he said her name. He wants Teresa to be his girl this year, so he said her name without realizing it during class. In addition, he tried to bluff his way out by making noises that sounded French, he says “La me gave me con la grandma” when his teacher asks him a question in French (para 44).
