7th Grade Analysis

Decent Essays
I’m a 6th grader reader to prepare to 7th grade. Now somethings that I do now in 6th grade are going to have to be different when I get to 7th grade.

First of all I need to be more responsible in classes when in middle school. I need to pay attention in class because it can be important. Don’t leave things last minute and then rush doing my work. Finally I need to take notes because we might have a test later on. All of these things I would change for 7th grade.

I need to do better in school in general. For example I need to better at certain subjects like reading, math, and writing. I need to get better grades in these subjects. I also need to get better when I take test, I want to get B’s and A’s on all my tests. That’s something that

After almost one-hundred and eighty days, the 2015-2016 school year is approaching an end. So far, I have concluded that middle school is basically like building a house. Before middle school started, in fifth grade, the house only had the boards and the main skeleton of the whole structure. All of the basics are learned in elementary school: learning how to read, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, fractions, the founding of America,, etcetera, but by the time students reach sixth grade, new knowledge builds onto what is already known. Letters are added into the familiar math equations; stories are written with all of the reading and grammar knowledge; unfamiliar people, wars, and awakenings add onto the history of America.…

“The wisdom of admitting your weakness and correcting them through continuous learning means leadership.” – A. James. When I read this aphorism it immediately clicked with me because this is something I had to learn to do to become a good leader. A leader isn’t someone who bosses people around to do things that will just benefit them.. A leader is someone who learns from their weaknesses and inspires others to better themselves.…

Change is Coming Change means the act or instance of making or becoming different. My life changed when I got here, just like Tom Sawyer, his life changed throughout the book. In The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, I have also changed academically and socially throughout seventh grade. The main character Tom Sawyer changed throughout the book. Tom is a mischievous boy in the beginning of the story, he has told over a thousand lies, but as the story goes on he becomes more responsible.…

Middle school can be an odd and rough time for kids, as they change from being sheltered youth to responsible young adults. I failed miserably at handling that transition. The classes taught in middle school were supposed to be easy, especially now that I look in retrospect. Yet, I regularly brought home B’s and low A’s, at best, on my report card. I had barely challenged myself in middle school, if at all.…

Learning to read is a skill many can obtain quickly or not so well. Myself, on the other hand was one of the many children who struggled with not only the thought of reading, but the actual process of reading not only a book, but sentences, word and sounding out words. Struggling through elementary with reading problems and on and off again help made it seem even worse. Going into kindergarten was intimidating, with all the bright colored posters with words even I couldn’t read. Having to be assigned seats next to strangers who soon would become my closest friends.…

Reading Assignment 4 As I get older, it has sometimes been frustrating not to recall information. On many occasions, I find myself not remembering when I go from one room to another why I actual came into that room. In order to be more productive and less frustrated, writing list to remember things has been very beneficial. At other times, I have posted notes on my cell phone calendar, so that I get a reminder of things I need to remember. Also, using Post It notes on the bathroom mirror, the refrigerator, or even the car dashboards comes in handy.…

Advice is guidance or a recommendation, and everyone needs advice at some point in their life. If I were going to give advice to someone, it would be for my sister, Lily. The advice would be about how to succeed in sixth grade. The advice would be how to be organized, how to get homework done on time, how to get help and how to stay calm . Being in middle school is a lot different from being in elementary school, the amount of homework is a huge difference.…

At age five, we learn the alphabet, learn songs to remember each letter, and know it backwards and forwards. At age 6, we are learning sight words and reading small sentences and passages. By age 7, we are taught how to read very simple stories, which eventually turn into small chapter books, then larger books, until we're eventually reading great novels written by the greatest minds in history, such as Aristotle, Victor Hugo, J.R.R. Tolkien, Mark Twain, and Jules Verne. However, once we reach a certain point, we stop learning how to read, and become satisfied with simply understanding words and phrases.…

This letter is intended to help me figure out what skills I have learned in this class, and what skills I was lacking and had already obtained coming into this class. This is my first year in college, but I had many of my teachers in high school that prepared me for the rigorous calculus course. I took calculus AB my senior year of high school, so I had all of the skills I needed prior to entering this class. I knew the Limit, Derivative, and Anti-Derivative topics, and in depth.…

If I am able to get into middle school, but looking at my grades, there is a VERY slim chance I will succeed and get there. But, if there is a miracle, these are the things I will change about myself in class. I will try to get my work done because I have many missing assignments at my elementary school, which is causing my horrible grades. I will try to listen more in class because sometimes I do not understand or I just don’t listen to the teachers when they are doing a lesson, and I want to be more interested in classwork and instructions that the teachers put for us when we do something we haven’t really done. Another thing I’d like to improve in at my school before I go over to the 7th grade is to get better at everything we do…

Just like learning to walk or ride a bike, learning to read is one of life’s milestones. However, unlike walking and biking, reading skills are not suddenly obtained and then static throughout life. After learning to read initially, an individual’s reading skills, interests, and purposes further develop and change throughout their life. Furthermore, the means by which an individual improves their reading capabilities change over time as well. In the same way, I initially improved my reading ability and changed my interests through the help of my parents, then later my teachers, and finally, in spite of a dark period of little improvement, through my own effort.…
