Fireworks are often a symbol of celebration for special events and holidays, such as Fourth of July or New Years. Fireworks get their origin from China, in the 7th century. Fireworks make an enjoyable, colorful show to watch, but do we really know how they work? How do the different colors just randomly appear in the sky? Within a firework, there is a shell. The shell holds the gunpowder and explosive materials. The ‘ammunition’ for a firework is black powder or the gunpowder. The black powder contains charcoal, sulfur, and carbon.
