7Hills Garden Project Reflection When our class decided to make a community garden for 7hills, I was excited all quizzes and tests were dropped. Everyone including myself thought this project would be a breeze; little did we know we would be struggling a lot. Every one of us got along before we started this project but then our personalities began to show. Assigning roles was difficult because a lot of us did not want to hurt feelings; there were a lot of feelings hurt during all of this. Our main leader for this project would say she could handle everything and then would message all of us to help her do her job and then she would take all the credit for herself. This is what caused a lot of stress, pressure and tempers to rise. I had a lot of ideas that were put down or our leader took credit all the credit. I felt like she didn’t take me serious and thought I wasn’t capable of doing things for the class. It was very stressful …show more content…

It’s a lot of hard work and putting yourself out into the community to be able to accomplish a

I am honored to have been selected as a candidate of the Pottsgrove National Honors Society. I believe that i represent the necessary leadership qualities, and exemplary academics to represent Pottsgrove. This year I was chosen among a small group of 10 students to help plan our Walkout for change on March 14th. This group was comprised of students showing leadership qualities that showed an interest in political advocacy and a want for change within our government. The entire group was student led and I along with the other student leaders planned exactly how the walkout would go and the days leading up to it.…

The groups were decided at random, and I was placed luckily with two very close friends, Josefeth and Reyna, and Kevin, a student who did not have the best reputation for completing his assignments. I felt from the beginning that I might end up doing more work than Kevin, but I decided to trust that he would not let the group down when so many points were at stake. We began delegating responsibilities amongst ourselves and made progress as they days went by. Nearing the deadline, we checked on each others progress a few days prior to the due date. Reyna, Josefeth, and I had each completed our segments of the assignment, and Kevin had assured us that he, too, had completed his portion.…

Although the tasks completed this week were not very challenging, they allowed me to come in contact with some of the competency skills. Competency skill 9 was re-introduced from last week. I was to report to the Arthurtown site and intern under the supervision of Ms. Julia. Ms. Julia had me continue to sort through employee files; looking for forms any of the teachers may have been missing or needed to update.…

When most of the work on individual parts of the topic was done, one of our group members informed us that he had to withdraw from the course due to personal circumstances. Now the work of four people had to be divided among three of us. Even at that point our group was working hard, despite the numerous assignments in other courses. Another frustration with the assignment hit me when the deadline for submitting the assignment was change to three days earlier right before the date for submission. At that point our group had little to no time to combine all individual parts together, proofread and submit the assignment.…

I demonstrated leadership at the waterfront festival by presenting the importance and safety of keeping water clean. I expressed this by keeping the students focused, letting them engage in hands on experiments, and answering all their questions to help them get a better understanding of what was happening. These leadership skills helped me earn respect from each student. One of the ways I demonstrated leadership while presenting to the students was making sure they were focused on my presentation.…

Why We Should Get Rid of Standardized Testing Test. The word alone is enough to drive panic into the hearts of students everywhere. While some tests are bigger than others or worth more points, they all tend to elicit the same response of dread. However there is one type of testing above all others that needs to be removed and that is standardized testing. We should remove standardized testing because it costly and expensive, scores are used to reward or punish teachers leading to things like cheating, and are unreliable and have not improved student achievement.…

Fellow members of jobs and students in school, has there ever been a thought on the small amount of work that has gotten done in your group, because your group members did not contribute at all ? Students do not need to depend on others with a grade that impacts them so heavily, when it would be a lot easier to just do it alone. Working with others can cause a decrease in a student's grade, due to the lack of work the others did. Fellow students of Park View, we often get projects where we get the option to work together, and choosing to work alone is the smarter option.…
