Sun Layers

The earth tilts possibly due to being hit by an asteroid billions of years ago causing it to tilt in the sun 's orbit. Therefore its axis that should be completely vertical top to bottom) tilts. The earth completes one turn daily therefore all the world will receive sunlight and will enjoy the changes of season because of this tilt. It has nothing to do with how close it is to the sun but because the axis is not straight. The axis stays tilted in the same direction as it orbits around the sun that is why only certain parts received more sunlight on a specific time of day and in the year (seasons). The sun has to go through many layers that filter some of the more harmful radiation that is emitted and allows the earth to provide an abundance …show more content…
The first and very last layer in our atmosphere is the exosphere and has no breathable air and is extremely cold, below that lies the thermosphere that has very hot molecules that capture the radiation becoming charged and increase in temperature, but because they are scattered and not packed in tightly they are unable to transfer the heat, The next bottom ;layer is the middle layer known as the “mesosphere” where all the gasses are mixed , followed by the stratosphere that contains the very well known ozone that captures intense UV Rays from the sun which protects our atmosphere known as the troposphere. Within the troposphere the weather and temperature is constantly changing and contains ¾ of the atmosphere 's mass., it 's the ideal atmosphere to live in because it produces oxygen and weather that aids life to flourish. There is one more additional layer that is actually vertical and overlaps the exosphere, thermosphere ,mesosphere and the earth 's magnetic field that causes the gasses within this portion of the atmosphere to become highly excited by the energy emitted from the sun, charging its …show more content…
Think of the effect of the Aurora borealis, that 's what is responsible for the beautiful lights. The light from the sun that manages to filter through will cause certain temperature changes based on the latitude of the incoming lights on to the earth 's surface. Radiation from the heat in the atmosphere helps the earth circulate air and water currents to regulate temperatures. The temperatures inside gas molecules create frictions when they are charged increasing the temperature. The energy of motion also known as Kinetic energy is what atoms have within the molecules that give them the ability to power up and move quickly, thus friction that heats things up. The earth is considered a cool body and the the reason that the temperature isn 't freezing cold is because it absorbs heat such as through greenhouse gassesa that conatin co2 whic are released by plants and also pollution( that is also why we have very severe storms because of the insanely high levels of co2 emissions from factories and cars). The earth 's water also absorbs radiation and becomes a reservoir transferring heat equally among its body of water and stabilizing the hot radiating temperatures and cooling them

1.Because of the Earths daily rotation it causes the sun to appear to rise in the east and set in the west so it creates a day and night so the moon relies on the sun to set and rise during a certain time in the hemisphere 2.The seasons result from the 23.5-degree tilt of the Earth's axis combined with its revolution around the sun 3.The Moon's and Sun's gravitational pulls on Earth are responsible for this natural phenomenon creating the tides. Tides occur because the Moon's gravity decreases with distance from the Moon. 4. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth is positioned directly between the Sun and the Moon and the Earth casts a shadow on Moon.…

When it had a high tone wave it is closer to the surface. The sun has given off over a million different wave frequencies. A new science called helioseismology was used to help see the inside surface of the sun. This new science has lead us to believe that the sun has a lot of layers.…

There are many misconceptions in astronomy. For example, many people (even Harvard graduates) believe that the reason that seasons exist is that the closer Earth is to the sun, the hotter it is, resulting in summer. Likewise, the further away the Earth is from the Sun, the colder it is, resulting in winter. We know that the reason seasons exist is because of the 23.5 degree tilt of the Earth. For instance, when Earth is on the right of the Sun, the tilt causes the northern hemisphere to be in the dark and the southern hemisphere to be illuminated in daylight.…

The Sun’s electromagnetic radiation, more specifically the infrared radiation, is crucial to the formation of this atmosphere. When the Sun is closer, the infrared radiation heats up the surface of the (*clenches teeth*) dwarf planet, and sublimates the atmosphere (Redd). Pluto’s closest point to the sun is about 4.44 billion kilometers away from the Sun, whilst its farthest point may be even farther than 7.9 billion kilometers (Dunbar). Ultraviolet and other kinds of high frequency radiation do not have any effect on Pluto, as most of them do not reach the surface. It has been estimated that Pluto’s core temperature has been slowly rising over…

    The Little Ice Age

The Little Ice Age was essentially a negative feedback loop. With reduced temperature and strong winds, there was a lot of precipitation in the form of snow. The snow helped to reflect the sunlight out of the Earth, adding to the cooling effect of the Ice Age. Furthermore, since there was a reduced amount of solar radiation during the period, the expanding glaciers were also able to further reflect out any radiation, leading to the initial decreasing in temperature as seen in negative feedback loops. However, towards the end of the Little Ice Age in the mid 1800’s, there was more radiation entering the atmosphere due to the new change in orbit and rotation of the Earth.…

Energy, in the process which is determined as heat or heat flows, is constantly flowing into and out of all objects, in this case, Earth. Heat flows simply transfer energy from a higher temperature to a lower temperature, where the movement of the heat from the interior of Earth moves to the surface. Calculated by geologists, the source of most of this heat comes from the cooling of Earth's core and the radioactive heat generation in the upper 20-40 km of the Earth's crust. Crustal rocks containing high concentrations of the naturally occurring radioactive elements, (thorium, potassium, and/or uranium), produces radioactive heat generation. Where there is high radioactivity or where the Earth's crust is thinner, heat flow is higher, such as the mid-ocean ridges.…

As mentioned before, the process that allows the Sun to produce heat and light is referred to as nuclear fusion; it is the process in which the Sun gives off light and heat. Nuclear Fusion occurs when two or more nuclei of atoms fuse together to create a third element, which in the end will have a higher atomic number than the atoms which started the process. Most of the heat given off is caused by nuclear fusion. To elaborate and better explain, the convection in the core of the Sun, which…

One effect is that during years of peak sunspot occurrence, the world is faced with roughly two degrees Fahrenheit temperature drop. It is also speculated that the Maunder Minimum-a period of minimal sunspots bridging the 17th and 18th century-caused what is known as the Little Ice Age, a more extreme case of cooling. During this time, America experienced abnormally cold temperatures causing inland bodies of water to freeze-over or ice along their perimeter like they had never notably done before. Sunspot cycles also are believed to have an affect on the typical cycles of the Pacific Ocean and its corresponding trade winds, the effect is much greater because the amount of precipitation is increased due to increased condensation and sea-level pressure is also…
