Are you considered to be a success in your career or school? Do you have loads of money saved up from your job or made perfect grades while in school? Well, these are considered outward successes, but even if people have achieved such greatness in their life, is that enough? In 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Steve Covey shows that even if successful, everyone is struggling with an inner hunger to find personal harmony and effectiveness for healthy relationships with other people. By reading this book, I feel it has really helped me to understand how to be effective in my life and also to teach other people what I have learned. In part one of this book Covey talks about how to use this book properly, and to not just simply read it, and put it back up on the shelf. It’s designed for the continual process of change and has suggestions to actually apply the habits to your life. Covey said to “take an Inside-Out approach, and read with the purpose in mind of sharing or discussing what you learn with someone else within 48 hours after you learn it.” With this book report I’ll be doing …show more content…
Basically all he’s trying to say is that from childhood we grow from dependence to independence. Independence is not enough however because the world we are living in is a very interdependent world, one where teamwork, communication and cooperation is a big part of everyone’s lives. The seven habits start with the first three teaching people self-mastery, and getting that independence aspect. As mentioned earlier though, this is an interdependent world and habits 4,5, and 6 shows people how to be effective in the more personality-oriented side of things. The last habit is the habit of renewal and Covey states, “it is the habit of continuous improvement that creates the upward spiral of growth that lifts you to new levels of understanding and living each of the habits as you come around to them on a progressively higher
