The first step in the process should be to have staff conduct an analytical review of all papers and assign scores. By collecting information about the methods and materials in the math curriculum, it put the administrator in a position to be a facilitator, not a boss. It’s a step toward empowering the teachers to examine their own practice and to guide them toward meaningful, systematic improvements.
