6 Hour Work Hours

Decent Essays
I belive having 6 hour work days would not be a benefit for workers. While it may help employers with payroll issues and productivity, A lot of people would have trouble making ends meet. On one hand having people work six hour work days may be a benefit to a company. Productivity would most likely be higher because people would have to spend more time working. giving them less time to finish jobs assigned to them might give the person less time to goof off or take extra breaks. On the other hand, People may get very stressed out, Losing an extra two hours of work everyday. Also they may be used to having an alloted amount of time to get their work done. If you were to take two hours of work away from them they may not be able to finish

When that task is split up with several deadlines that are spaced closely together, though, they complete the work in less time than if they had been left to their own devices. People only work when they want to or when they have to because they are lazy. Splitting up the deadlines forces procrastinators to constantly be in the state of having to work, or else they would wait until the last minute. This is an example of how sometimes people need some external, uncontrollable, all powerful, force of nature to pressure them into doing better‒like a deadline, more or less. Hardships and misfortune are a perfect example of a factor of life that people just have little to no control over.…

The first academic journal I studied found that with the transition to a four-day school week, students scored in proficient or advanced level on math and reading achievement tests. This enhances the idea that switching to four-day week does not hinder a students performance and may in fact boost it. Both of the journals I read brought up many positives and a few negatives to implementing the four day week. Some of the positives they found were cost savings in utilities, transportation and food costs in addition to an increase in student and teacher attendance.…

Students with normal school days already have a hard time staying awake in class let alone adding another hour to the day. Some schools now have one more hour than others but it doesn't make it a good thing. Schools should not be lengthened by one hour because it would be harder on the students to get up in the morning, students that play sports would have a harder time getting to practice, and students would have less time after school to do things they like. One disadvantage of schools adding another hour is that students would have a harder time with waking up early. Most students in middle school get up at around 7:00 to get ready for school if they were to add another hour into the end of the day students would get home at a later time…
