5th Grade Research Paper

5th grade was an awesome year I’ll never forget. It was full of good times, fun adventures, and great memories. Also, wonderful teachers who did their best to teach us. I’ve learned many things in 5th grade. One of the most important things I learned in 5th grade was philanthropy. In CATS we worked together to help others. Another thing I learned was loyalty. I learned this in scouts by continuing on a project others thought was useless. The last thing I learned that was important was teamwork. This I learned in soccer, and it is very important. One of my favorite activities we did in 5th grade was in art. First, we outlined a bird in glue. Then we used a cool coloring tool, chalk pastels. They’re a very soft tool. Using them we blended colors, and rubbed them in. They turned out very beautiful. One of the funniest things that happened in …show more content…
VanSickle. She’s been one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. She works really hard not only to teach 5th grade but also to help in other things. Teaching 5th grade can be hard, now add CATS, Student Council, Social Studies Olympiad, PAWS assemblies, and making t-shirts. That is a lot of dedication. One goal I’m proud that I’ve achieved is not going into negative pysickles. As many of you know when you go into negative pysickles you have to sharpen pencils on the wall. You’ll have to sharpen the amount of pencils you have negative pysickles. So if you have negative 50 pysickles you sharpen 50 pencils. I’m proud that I haven’t gone to negative pysickles. One of my favorite books we read this year was Wonder. Wonder is a book about a kid with facial deformities. He has always been homeschooled until 5th grade. He goes to Breecher Prep and gets some mean comments about his face. He thinks he found a friend but his buddy says some mean stuff. They become friends again and on a nature retreat they meet some mean 7th grades but are able to fight them

The book that I decided to read this summer was called “Wonder” written by R.J Palacio. The reason I chose this book was because I thought the picture on the cover was pretty interesting. It stood out to me, like as if it were saying to read it. When I read it I found that it was an inspirational story about a little 10 year old boy named August. All he wanted to be was to be like everyone else, to be what he called “normal”.…

I’ve been in school for about 11 years, every year is different, but yet the same. Because we are at the same school for years, it’s the same people, same school, and same everyday routine. Some years are better than others, but the overall best year that I’ve experienced is or was, 8th grade. The fun field trips to places, High School acceptance, and it’s the last year of middle school.…

As an only child growing up in Clarence, Iowa, I at most times found myself playing alone in my backyard or sitting in front of my television, watching whatever we had on VCR. DVD players had already been out for years at that time, but with my father working as a mechanic in some random guy's garage, we could not afford to buy a DVD player. I had to resort to VHS tapes, but at least my mother would take me to the used game store(which also sold VHS tapes and DVDs)every once in a while. I became addicted to owning VHS tapes, even as a six year old boy and honestly, I still am to this day. My favorites were the movies from Tim Burton and the Disney films were my absolute favorites; I just could not get enough of Toy Story and The Lion King.…

During the first semester in my freshman year in high school, I never knew school club’s existed. All I knew was how to get to school and get as much experience as I could and return home. I did not have anybody telling me to join any school clubs or get good grades because I did not have an older brother or sister like other kids do. It was a terrible feeling of not having someone who can talk to you or inspire you to participate in school clubs but that all changed when second semester arrived. When second semester arrived, I made some friends, friends who tell me to join school clubs so my resume can look as good as a professional.…

The book I chose to read for the third quarter is called “The Anybodies”. This book was written by Julianna Baggott (N. E. Bode). I was excited to read this book because the cover looked very interesting and it seemed like a book I would be interested to read. This book is about a girl named Fern who was switched with another baby at birth and she lived with a very boring family, the Drudgers, her whole life. Eleven years later, Fern’s biological father comes to their front door and the families agree to exchange their kids for the summer.…

Every time I woke up during the night was due to my environment around me. Since my sophomore year in high school, I 've been able to be in a kindergarten classroom under the guidance of the same teacher, Mrs. Cookie Bodie. Through this experience I 've been able to watch her attitude be positive towards herself, those around her, and the subject matter she was teaching. She portrayed the characteristics of a Level 3 teacher, and I am very thankful for the time I was able to learn from her. The most outstanding thing I learned from her was classroom management: to never back down while under fire, and always remember what your goal is for the class. The difference she has made in my life through teaching is one I will never forget.…

To this day, I remember my kindergarten teacher Ms.Karagarto. Even though I was obviously very young when she taught me, I still remember how great of both a teacher and person she was. When I left Kindergarten, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher because of her and to this day I haven’t changed my mind about it. Whenever I go home to Houston and am in the area, I always make it a priority to go by her classroom and visit her. Since I was young, I have spent both my school years and summers babysitting and nannying, and both of these things have shown me that I absolutely love spending my time with and interacting with children.…
