From my understanding, everyone has something that, under any circumstance, can cheer them up. In my life, that one thing is music. More specifically, I love the sounds of 5SOS. They amaze me with their perfect blend of rock culture and modern pop. They even mix in some punk vibes. I stand behind this band because we share a common goal of bringing instruments back into the “Top 40.” 5SOS got their platform on a tour with One Direction. Ever since, they have been labeled by many as a “boy band.” I am here to abolish that epithet. A “boy band,” is loosely defined as a group of young male singers. Now while 5SOS consists of boys around the age of 20 that have stellar voices, they also play their instruments with incredible talent. Sadly, in order to truly understand this, you have to see them live, for if you Google the band, a lot of cliche pop songs will pop up. This is probably because teenage girls rule the music charts, and they like that kind of stuff. As a fan that has seen the band live many times, those songs shouldn’t define them.
