Many people do not believe in destiny, however, even the most skeptic person must surely admit that everybody has a purpose. Our purpose is what drives and gives us the motivation to face life everybody. It is the burning desire that pushes man to be successful in all of his or her endeavors. However, we all have different personalities, backgrounds and experiences; these are the factors that push us to success therefore our achievements cannot be the same. This especially applies in the arts field that includes music, art, drawing, dancing and much more. In music not every artiste manages to become a legend in fact very few people do. He was the victim of a horrible shooting on April 24, 2000, a couple of days before he was planned to shoot a video with the famous R&B group, Destiny’s Child. He was left with numerous gun woods and had to be hospitalized for a few months, while in hospital, he signed to Columbia records where he recorded an album that was never released. He has gathered a staggering 153 nominations from which he has been awarded 83 times. The awards for 50 Cent started flowing in 2003 after debut album was released. He won 2 MTV Video Music Award (VMA) for artist to watch and best rap video for his massively successful single In da club(Stoute,215). The awards did not stop there; he also received the BET Awards for best new artist and best male hip-hop artist. On top of this he also earned the Billboard Music Awards for album, artiste and hot 100 single of the year in addition to the five World Music Awards he won for best artist, new artist, R&B act, hip hop act and pop act of the year.(Stoute,215). By far his biggest award came in 2010 when he won a Grammy Award for the song Crack a bottle which features Eminem and Dr. Dre. In terms of awards there is nothing that 50 Cent hasn’t achieved, he has managed to win about every single award that can be given to an artiste in the hip hop genre.
