Weeks passed and Aspen didn't get any requests to play with the two guys she met one before and gradually they slipped her mind because, hey, it was only one night for a few hours. However, Michael couldn't shake the thought of being just a normal person to someone and not 'Michael Clifford from 5 Seconds of Summer'. He thought he hit it off well with Aspen, and maybe they could chat more and be friends, even if it is long distance. He knew he was crazy for being willing to try befriending a stranger. He was tired of people using him and leaving him. He wanted someone to like him for just him. For the past few weeks, he's been up late thinking about how it would work out. How would he pull off being 'Just Michael' without giving everything away? What if she didn't even want to talk to him? What if she does and starts questioning him? What if he asks what he looks like? That would definitely ruin it. He decided to wing it and go with the flow.

Michael scrolled through his friends list on Xbox late one night, searching for ASSpen401. He mentally asked himself 'should I even take a chance?' over and over while typing out a message to Aspen. He wasn't even sure of what to write to her, but words just came out. He knew he wasn't very good with girls but he decided that he would indeed take a chance at a shot of being a normal guy, but doubt was always in

Aspen laid back on her bed, trying to drown out their blabbering. 'They don't get me at all,' she thought, 'They don't understand me, and we're all very different'. Her thoughts drifted to those boys- especially Michael. Something about him was mysterious. Just by the way he talked and what he said intrigued her, and he would definitely understand her, if he was her friend. Maybe she should take her friends advice and take chances. This could be her chance for someone who understands her. She decided to wait until her friends leave to reach out to

Joseph Pulitzer believed that for a piece of writing to be effective the selection had to follow four main principles to present the story; briefly, clearly, picturesquely and accurately. Reconstructing Amelia, the first novel by Kimberly McCreight , utilized these principles quite effectively in the development of the novel as a whole. The novel focuses in on the life of Kate Baron whose daughter, Amelia, supposedly committed suicide the previous month. McCreight takes the reader through Amelia’s final days alive as well as Kate’s journey to find the truth of her daughter's death. Her use of characters that originally present as flat character but developed into dynamic ones shows that there were no unused elements in the novel and as the story…

Many theories have been proposed on what exactly would take place post nuclear war via multiple works of fiction. Stories like "There Will Come Soft Rains" and even games such as the Fallout series present their own ideas on what the world will be like after it has been engulfed in nuclear fire. These representations are all incredibly interesting and provocative. However, in the story, "Searching for Summer," readers are presented with a world where most have given up hope. Interestingly enough, the story does not go for the "rugged waist-land" stereotype, but instead introduces its readers subtly to the moral and ethical issues that have amassed over the years due nuclear fallout.…
