5 Paragraph Response Paper

Over the last few weeks in Ms. Sears Hawkeye composition class we have been working on a five page summary response paper. Needless to say this is a big project, and the fact that it will determine my colege status has really been weighing on my mind. I’ve always enjoyed emglish, although it has never been my strong suit. And now this class will decide my fate. Not to get dramatic or anything, I’m just really stressed out. And on top of this big project that makes me feel like im going to have a heart attack. I had to write a full page of anything I can think of in twelve point font. SINGLE SPACED!!! You’re killing me slowly Ms. Sears. I just don’t understand what is up with this single spaced carp. Its not even easy to read, its uncomfortable and impossible to annotate. …show more content…
Anything other than single spaced. You know I’ve written a couple short stories, and if I had to write them single spaced, I swear to god I would jump in the Cedar river. Not to mention what is this “write whatever you want” stuff about. I have enough things to think about let alone spend an hour of my life coming up with a topic for a one pager. And it always takes forever because I send an hour coming up with what to write and another hour to make sure I fill out the page. And when you get out school at three, run till five, get home at six because you walk to your dads office a mile away. And then leave to go to robotics from seven to eight. Time becomes a precious comodedy, and I end up giving all my energy to writing one essay, while in the middle of a five page indepth response essay. Do you see what I mean when I say this causes me a lot of stress. Im so stressed out sometimes it’s hard to think, hard to write. I just wanted a breather, but each week we have another one pager due on

Lindsay Roach Response Journals 5.3 Response 1: The Family of Little feet seemed insignificant at first because Esperanza talked about “Plump little feet”. At first this made no sense to the reader because she was talking about shoes and plump feet. But as this vignette goes on it was important to the characters because it was one of Lucy’s defining moments on her trip through life and an experience with a guy. Although the girls “Were glad the shoes were gone”, it was important for them to experience a lesson of how the real world really is in their neck of the woods.…

My final draft of the rhetorical analysis of “Marijuana Legalization Defended” by Scott Kolker is a composition of four total drafts. I began by getting the information I wanted down and into the right format that someone would need to make a rhetorical analysis. The second draft involved simple revisions of spelling and grammar to make sure that everything made sense to the reader and could be easily read. After our workshop in class together, I went and revised the draft to for more details that included adding more details and went into a greater detail, this ended up adding a little over a page of deeper detail for the reader to understand the points I was trying to make. My fourth and final draft was incredibly analytical of not only…

To summarize the APA report, it argues that the article did a poor job in six ways of explaining how girls and women are sexualized and how sexualization negatively affects them. Two critisms the APA had for the article would be over-determined impact of sexualization on girls and women and conflation of objectification, sexual objectification, and sexualization. In the over-determined section, it tells us how sexual images and sexualization can have negative impact. The author tries to prove their point by using certain tactics like, only focusing on the negative impact, being bias towards evidence that could prove that there are upsides to sexual images, they’re not specific about what counts as sexual imagery, and using terms that have strong…

For some people, writing is difficult and it can become stressful to write about topics you have no interest about; for me it’s the contrary, I have always had good fluency when it comes to write about any topic, even if it doesn’t interest me, this is mainly because I take it as a new challenge or an opportunity to have a more in deep look about the certain topic; I use this not only for writing but every time I get tasked with something new, for example back when I was in the marine recruit training more commonly known has boot camp, it’s a requirement to learn how to shoot a rifle with outstanding accuracy, for me this was something completely new since I had never held a rifle before and it hadn’t really caught my attention until…

At the beginning of the semester, I viewed myself as a creative writer. After attending this class I realized that there is a lot more that goes into writing an essay, or a research paper, than just creativity alone. I have learned that it is very important to be aware of my strengths and weaknesses in my writing. Taking this class has helped me understand the strengths and weaknesses in my writing skills, and it has given me the opportunity to strengthen the areas in which I was weak. An example of this is that I have become aware of my grammar and spelling errors as the semester progressed.…
