I see my responsibility to America as the same as most people. Most people believe they know their responsibility to America is by paying taxes and obeying the laws that are in place so the country runs smoothly, however, most people are also wrong. The real responsibility we have to America is making it a better place by lowering the number of hate crimes committed, decreasing the poverty rates and decreasing our personal debt. There are no logical reasons as to why hate crimes are still occurring everywhere in the United States because we’re all apart of the same country and we pride ourselves on our diversity as a nation. This is our doing, we are responsible for every one of those 5,479 hate crimes and they’re committed with no true purpose. Around 47 percent of all of those incidents were reportedly racial cases alone, which is about 2,575 cases total. All because of people who had an issue with the way someone looked or what their customs were. We have to realize that we’re the ones who took this land from Native Americans in the first place, we’re the foreigners, and now we’re committing crimes against them. Now all of the racial crimes aren’t only against Native Americans, but they’re arguably the most important race that inhabits America because they were the ones who first inhabited it before the European settlers. In 2015, the average American household had 132,158 dollars in debt with 15,675 dollars of it coming from credit cards. The fix to this problem is pretty simple in fact, just stop using the credit card until it’s paid off and accurately record purchases you make with it so you know exactly how much you have to pay. The rest of people should be following their examples for managing debt because even though it may not be a large percentage of someone’s total debt, it can in turn lead to other eye opening solutions to other various types of debt. The gross U.S. federal government debt was estimated to be at 19.3 trillion dollars during 2016, and even Japan was only at 10.46 trillion dollars as the next closest nation in debt. If we all come together with the same end goal of dropping out of the first place spot in national debt, it can surely be accomplished as we are a powerful community if we all come together as
