I believe that truth is the first aspect of the 4-Way test because the truth never waivers. This element of the test is hard to measure do to the fact that trust is only dependent on the character and reputation a person has. Recently I was given choice, have everyone in the senior class pay for our graduation all night party or use fundraised money that our class had with the school to cover the costs. If we used the money through the school then our peers wouldn’t have to pay anything so that is what we chose. This decision limits what we can buy as gifts for our class but it is what is fair for our classmates so they can have the memories the party will give them and not have to worry about paying for it.
During my entire tenure in student government I have found that if you help someone they will do the same for you. This cycle of giving and receiving holds me to an accountability while building relationships with those in my school district. When I demonstrate a work ethic that promotes teamwork and accountability to the rest of the student government, we finish tasks faster, work efficiently and become a more cohesive team.
