Soldiers in the 35P Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) face many challenges as the progress through their language school and Advanced Individual Training (AIT). They spend six to 18 months focusing all their attention on learning a second language at an accelerated pace and when they have accomplished that daunting task they are sent to Goodfellow Air Force Base to learn the technical aspect of their MOS, usually another three or four months of training. By the time a 35P Soldier arrives at their first duty assignment they have two or more years of service. They have received extensive training in language and technical aspects of their job, but they have received little, if any, tactical training pertaining to their jobs. For those Soldiers assigned to a FORSCOM unit, the lack of tactical training has posed a problem for tactical unit commanders and they demand a fix.…

Maj McGuire’s claim is not much of an argument that answers his research question. His claim is more of a restatement of the question; the EO experience and how it can better benefit the Air Force. Possibly, the claim could be stronger, if stated, the Air Force needs to take full advantage of the skills and experience gained by becoming an EO. However, his reason does support the need for better EO utilization with current reductions and need for presence overseas.…

For this week’s assignment, the class was asked to review an article written by Kempinen and Kurlychek. The article that they wrote surrounded itself with the attempt to determine if rehabilitative programs within a particular setting, such as a boot camp, reduced recidivism. The author’s performed their study regarding this very subject around the state of Pennsylvania’s Motivational Boot Camp Program. The boot camp program had two primary focuses which was to reduce prison overcrowding and recidivism. In order to be eligible to be considered for this boot camp program, an offender must meet the following guidelines: “sentenced to prison not exceeding 2 years, under age 35, and no conviction of certain violent crimes or drug trafficking” (Kempinen &Kurlychek, 2003, p.586).…

ACK The British Commonwealth Air Training Plan was a major contribution that Canada had made for the Allied war efforts in the Second World War. Canada offered several benefits for the air training plans compared to other countries since they offered huge areas of land to develop training sites and manufacture planes. Canada is also right beside the United States and near Great Britain, which allowed them to have easier access to aircraft parts and transportation of men and their equipment. During 1940 – 1945, 151 BTCAP schools and other facilities were developed across Canada. The schools and facilities were run by thousands of members of the women’s division and many other volunteers of the Royal Canadian Air Force.…
This is a rebuttal to the nonrec I received last Tuesday. The nonrec states that I do not meet my OIC's physical fitness standards in order to be promoted. It does not exactly state it, but I know that he is referring to my 2nd class PFT. His "standard" for promotion as stated by the corporals a couple weeks ago while passing word was that anyone that does not have a 1st class PFT or fails the rifle range will not be looked at for promotion. Although, this standard is now easily achievable for me, it was not the standard for recommendation when I ran my PFT back in April.…
Resocialization is adult socialization requiring you to learn new values and social beliefs and replace the old views you had. A circumstance where resocialization would happen,I found in the textbook, would be entering a total institution like in the military . A total institution is institutions in where individuals are cut off from the rest of our society so that they can be controlled and regulated for the purpose of systematically stripping away previous roles and identities in order to create new one. Resocialization in the military begins when the people who have joined go into boot camp. In boot camp the recruits are prepared physically , mentally, and emotionally according to Today’s military.…
