The cheapest device is static solutions at 517 dollars. Harris communications sells their devices for 629 dollars and Williams sound sells their devices for 999 dollars. Since the device is easy to use, minimum set up and training is required. If a student has never heard before, some adjustment training might be required to help adjust the student to the new sounds they hear. Systems can be replaced but may be costly to do so.
Personal Experience with Device
I have never seen a student use a personal system. But, I have seen my mentor teacher use the FM systems to project her voice to the whole class. I think it really helps the students hear her directions clearly and help the students process what is being taught to them. The sound is always really clear and no one ever has trouble hearing what she has to say. Best part, she doesn’t have yell over students either! However, I see the personal systems working really for students whose teachers do not use the whole class
