1. Prepare 2 30-foot-tall rooms. In one of the rooms there will be red LED lights hung on the ceiling, and in the other room there will be no lights. Use the thermostats to keep the temperatures for both rooms at room temperature: 20-25 degrees Celsius. Make sure all windows are closed to prevent sunlight from entering the rooms.

2. Place one set of the 40 pedestals (one set = 20 pedestals) of different heights in each room (20 per room).The first pedestal should be one foot tall, and each corresponding pedestal should increase by one foot increments each time until there is a 20-foot pedestal.

3. Set the lights in the room with the red LED lights to its starting wavelength: 700 nm.

Set the carts aside, and pour room temperature water into the watering can to give each potted plant four ounces of water. Always keep the lights on in room with red LED lighting, and keep the lights off in the other room, close the doors to both rooms when done. Then leave both the plants and rooms alone until the following day.

8. Next Day:
Observe any physical changes to all 40 bean plants and record all the data for all 40 of bean sprout seeds from both rooms at 7:00 am the next day, and record your information in your charts. Use a ruler to measure the height of the bean sprout plant growth (use the ladders to reach the higher pedestals). Include your units only in the headings of your charts. Data will be collected and recorded daily.

9. Once you have observed and recorded your data in a timely manner, increase the intensity of the red LED lights in the room with the red LED lights by 5 nm. Do this at 8:00, so the plants will get the same amount of time exposed to the different levels of light intensity (wavelengths of red LED lights in nanometers). The room with no light stays as it
