I thought that the living condition of the family in Los Angeles was very difficult, but the place that they were staying is was not as bad as I expected it to be. The dilapidated home was incredibly dangerous due to the rodents and critters that were often in the home, the dirt ground, and the lack of facilities. This home was prone to disease that could endanger the family. The conditions of the family in Mexico made the conditions of the family in Los Angeles seem excellent. Through Frank’s experience in Mexico he was able to see why the family immigrated to the country illegally, and began to develop a sympathy for the family in LA and mexico. This understanding of the family led him to change his strong opposition for illegal immigrants after experiencing why they are taking desperate measures to come to the United
