Promoting understanding of why a group of people need to be a team. The team needs to understand its shared goals and what each team member brings to the team that is relevant and crucial to its overall successes.

Model Excellence
You have probably heard the phrase: Behavior breeds behaviour. This saying is illustrate by a simple representation called the Betray Box. In a nutshell, the Betray Box helps us to understand how our attitudes and behaviours directly affect the attitudes and behaviours of others. When we are stuck in a cycle mistrust, not taking authority, positive view point and so on it is up to the team leader to crack the cycle and change view point. Inevitably this has a positive impact on those around us. When we take charge and our team is more likely to follow our lead.
Open and Honest Communication
A hallmark of the high performance team is a high level of open, honest, robust and transparent communication. High performance teams grow trust by building a culture of partnership and shared values. This starts with open and truthful communication .When morality and translucency are lacking there can be no faith. Without faith teams fail to solve problems or make decisions. Without faith teams are incapacitate by dispute.
