3 Vw Bugs Analysis

Decent Essays
Art is all around us a way for people to express feelings, or make us think in a way 2we hadn't before. By communicating without or in a way that words alone cannot. (p.3) The untitled work (3 VW bugs) by Martin Ramirez does just that making his works. Giving the imagery to the viewer or at the very least a new perspective on life, his.
An abstract piece of work is what I would personally describe Three VW Bugs as. Ramirez places an iconic shape (VW bugs), in a scene of many lines and shadowing. Distorting or blurring the actual scenery around, (p.10) allowing us to stop looking and start to see the work for the intended message he is portraying. Ramirez encourages to not just mechanically look at the work , but encourages us to be receptive,

The beautifully wise words of an American painter, Robert Motherwell, could not have described abstract art any better I strongly believe. He intricately and sophisticatedly describes the breath-taking style of abstract art as follows, “The function of abstraction is to get rid of a lot of reality. You start with as much richness as you want, and subtract, and then you arrive at the residue of essences that you’re interested in.” This description really allows the reader to visualize the artist at the canvas, slapping the paint on and then every so carefully stripping away the perfect amount to acquire the goal and portray the image in their brains. I love the amount of visualization Motherwell allows, and encourages the viewer to experience.…

The most disturbing work of Art from my visit was "Stairway to Heaven" by the Chilean Alfredo Jaar. This photography shows the workers of a gold mine in Brazil, the photo shows an open pit. In a first level, we can appreciate men from different ages, even really young ones, performing different jobs at the mine, in the back of the photo we can see stairs in different levels of the ground that leads to the surface. This stairs in the picture gave name to the art, being a metaphor at the same time, how the stairs in the picture leads to the surface, and how the workers of the mine deserve to go to heaven for a hard life of work.…

An artist must encompass every characteristic, if not, then the artist is no more an artist than myself. Throughout my life, I have had an innumerable amount of ideas; however, I do not have the skill, ability, devotion, and passion necessary to express those ideas through art, therefore I am not nor will I ever be an artist. For these reasons, I believe it is essential that an artist craft their work without the use of…

The traditional view of art has changed over time just as most things have. Naturally, the act of perception has differed opinions on what society considers as art. Dance, paintings, photography, drawings, music, literature, and sculpting, are what comes to mind when contemplating the aspects of art. The limitation to defining a word so opinionated leaves out room for self-expression. The traditional ideas of what is considered art should be broadened; granted, although not tangible, art can be seen through ambitions, emotions, and expression through appearances when not limited to the customary definition.…

The painting gives off an oddly emotional feel, just like the two poems. Such artists as A.E.
