3 Societal Influences Analysis

How did we know how to socialize? Does it come naturally as we grow up? Well, Socialization is the procedure by which people take in the qualities in their group of environment such as speaking, skills, norms, values, culture, and more. (Henslin). It’s not just the qualities in the group but also the group itself or “people that can affect our self concept, attitudes, behaviors, or other orientations toward life.” (83, Henslin). The nature vs nurture debate is “how much a person’s characteristics comes from “nature” which is heredity and how much from “nurture” which is social environment.” (66, Henslin) As growing up to my age now, there were three societal influences in my life that have changed me and made me who I am. The three societal influences were my culture, friends, and education because culture was the first thing I experience, my friends brought me true happiness and freedom, and education showed me diversity and dream achievements.

My friends that I have been friends with for a very long time is consider my family because they were there throughout my life of growing up. They were there through my struggles and changes as a young adolescents. They taught and show me their world and perspectives of life and how my culture is not the only path. They show me a path of freedom to live my life and it conflicted with my culture because changes and free will of choice is very different in that perspective. My friends brought a different kind of happiness and joy to me and it was the best feeling ever. They made me came out of my comfort zone and help me find what I want. Every moment with them was cherishable and can be reminisce and laugh on. My friends were my backbone to choose how I live and will always support me no matter what the situation is because real friends will always help each other no matter what the situation
