Sweeteners
Gum used to be made of the sap of a tree. Gum contains long molecules what helps make the gum stretchy and good to blow bubbles. Thousand of years ago scientist have discovered human teeth marks in wads of gum. All gum is made of gum base. A gum base is made out of 3 ingredients, these 3 ingredients are Wax, Resin, Elastomer. The wax softens the gum, the Resin is tree sap, and its the part you chew, and the Elastomer is rubber, and it adds flexibility to the gum. Gum base is what makes plastic bottles and plastic bags. The gum base does not dissolve in the saliva, but the flavour does, your saliva takes away the taste of the gum, then you swallow it. Then you remember the taste
