LIAISON CLIA And LC-MS/MS Method

Improved Essays
Imprecision
The lowest coefficients of variation for precision within and between series over the whole tested concentration range were found for the LIAISON CLIA and LC-MS/MS method. Then followed the RIA. The Immulite CLIA showed the highest overall values and thus the lowest precision. A detailed list of all calculated variation coefficients is provided in Table 1 (A).
Sensitivity
The limit of blank (LoB), limit of detection (LoD) and limit of quantification (LoQ) were determined for all methods. The RIA proved to be the most analytically sensitive method, followed by LC-MS/MS. The LIAISON CLIA proved to be less sensitive, the most insensitive method was by far the Immulite CLIA. All determined determination limits are summarized in Table

Passing-Bablok regression of the LC-MS/MS versus the LIAISON was y=0.65x-0.01, Pearson`s coefficient of correlation r=0.975 (n=175); LCMSMS versus Immulite was y=0.60x+0.21, r=0.746 (n=125), LC-MS/MS versus RIA was y=0.75x+0.01, r=0.956 (n=80); LIAISON versus Immulite was y=0.96x+0.25, r=0.745 (n=135); LIAISON versus RIA was y=1.17x+0.01, r=0.954 (n=79); and Immulite versus RIA was y=1.29x-0.34, r=0.810 (n=40). All ratios were assumed to be linear. The Immulite CLIA was not interchangeable with the other three methods because more than 10% of the calculated differences were outside the limits of agreement. A graphical representation of all method comparisons is shown in Figure …show more content…
All in all, a pronounced degree of analytical variability between the different tests can be detected. The best agreement was found between the LC-MS/MS and the LIAISON CLIA. Although, there are no significant cross-reactions with other steroid hormones in the test according to the manufactures instructions for use, the highest values stated are 0.433% cross-reactivity for each increase to 100 ng/mL testosterone or DHEA, the LIAISON CLIA systematically measures 35% higher values than the LC-MS/MS. Comparisons between LC-MS/MS and RIA as well as between LIAISON CLIA and RIA look similar, but with slightly lower coefficients of correlation. Only the comparison between the Immulite and the other three test formats reveals systematic deviations especially in the higher measuring range that exclude the possibility of interchangeability of the measurement

Demonstration of Cellular Respiration Inside Lima Beans Cells in Vitro Purpose: Cellular respiration is a series of metabolic reactions that take place in the mitochondria and produce chemical energy in the form of ATP by the breakdown of food molecules. There are three processes involved in cellular respiration; glycolysis, the Krebs cycle and the electron transport chain. During this processes, glucose is oxidized by a series of redox reactions and its electrons and hydrogen ions are donated to two electron carriers called NAD+ and FAD.…

Introduction The percentage of men over 40 using testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) tripled from 2001 to 2011¹. Newer, gel based forms of treatment have aided the ease of application and encouraged prescription rates. Along with this trend comes an increase in the data surrounding TRT. This influx adds to the large scale, randomized studies conducted on the use of TRT in hypogonadal men. TRT is widely accepted to provide relief from retarded spermatogenesis, low sex function, depression, and bone fiber deterioration in aging men.…

A short literature review is included in the background section of the article, and it is relevant to the study. It provides information about the expenses related to readmission and the need of developing the interventions to reduce readmission rates. Poor communication, gaps in follow-up care, discharging patients with pending tests results, and inadequate patient education and discharge instructions have impacted the readmission rate. However, the authors of the article did not include any information about previous studies regarding the benefits of the NP’s involvement in patient care. 6b: The primary sources of information were mostly used in the literature review.…

The population from which the sample was taken represented the appropriate people because the authors studied children from fourth through sixth grade (elementary school). The average age of children who participated was 10 years, and 26% of them were from public schools, 26% from a public school, and 7% from a parochial school. The schools indicated that 60% of children were Black, 26% were White, and 14% were from other ethnicities. They also measured children’s teachers to analyze participant’s emotion regulation.…

Experiment 1: Standardisation of approximately 0.25 M Hydrochloric Acid Abstract The aim of the study was to standardise a solution of hydrochloric acid with an approximate concentration of 2.5 M against sodium carbonate solution. The main steps of this experiment were preparing the sodium carbonate solution, transferring the solution into a conical flask by using a pipette, adding the bromophenol blue indicator and titrating with hydrochloric acid until the first green colour appeared. The concentration of hydrochloric acid was found to be 0.2508 mol L-1. Introduction Standardisation is a process which is carried out to determine the actual molarity of a solution.…
