At our school it is an importance that we can help children and young people develop a rage of methods to protect themselves and to make their own decisions when it come to their own safety. This is so they can keep themselves protected in vulnerable situations, and have the self-confidence, elf-esteem and resilience to be able to come and say to an adult to prevent neglect or a form of abuse, or that of another child is bothering them, or being able to make a disclosure without the fear of being ridiculed or have it being dismissed.
It is also an importance that we was to teach the children that their bodies are their own and they don’t have to show or demonstrate affection for others, for example kissing, hugging, or even sitting on somebodies
