The short story “2BR02B” by Kurt Vonnegut is about a future generation that allowed no more than 40 million people to live. If a child was born they would have to kill one person for each child. Edward Wehling killed the doctor, Leora Duncan, and himself to assure there was room for triplets. The theme of the text is you should take your own life for your family. According to paragraph 88 it says, “I want those kids,” said Wehling quietly. “I want all three of them.” Wehling was going to do what every he needed to do in order to keep the triplets alive. Paragraph 90 also states, “I don’t want my grandfather to die, either,” said Wehling.” Edward was at a loss on how he was going to save four people, but kill three. He finally made a decision
