3 years ago I canceled my Time Warner cable TV service, and have opted to use online subscription based platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HBO GO. Technology advances have shifted my viewing habits in a couple of ways. I am able to restrict access to certain shows or create my own channels with content my son has permission to watch. Oh wait, I didn’t tell you, I’m a mother now! Being a mother to an adolescent son is amazing but it also means I have to curb my TV watching habits. Television is now a late-night indulgence, I binge watch seasons of my favorite TV series’, don’t tell me who Negan kills on The Walking Dead, I’m waiting for it to come out on NetFlix. I am now able to transfer content from my Smart phone apps to my Smart TV, sometimes I put YouTube on my TV and watch “Hamsters on a Piano” with my son! Hilarious. With the mobility of smartphones and tablets I can watch my shows in any room of the house and at any time; while lying in bed, on a work break, or even while getting my nails and hair did.
