No matter where you go or went to school, you always have some type of English class that forces you to write papers. These papers usually has to be a certain way or over a certain topic. To me that was a pretty big problem for me because I could do free writing easy, but when you tell me to write about something that I don 't have any interest in and I have to follow your “rules”, then I will just try to blow it off. I have always hated the way Professors and the world had this “image” of their version of a “perfect” essay. Over the course of this semester in my English 1320 class I have seen a drastic change throughout my writing style. Although I still have difficulties with a few writing tasks, I believe that I have improved significantly throughout this course. I have found that with my professor’s guidance along with my own personal editing that my grades have increased. Although it is difficult to not get caught up in simply striving for a letter grade or attaining a 4.0 grade point average, I would like to believe that my main goal was different.
