First of all, one should have an impeccable work ethic, in my opinion this is the most valuable trait a leader can possess. Primarily because giving ones best, not only increases the efficiency of the leader, it also motivates their subordinates, to put forth their best effort. In addition to having a strong work ethic a leader should also be held responsible for the group, whether that be ensuring that project is completed on schedule, or taking the blame when things go awry. A 21st century leader should always be in pursuit of knowledge; for if one is not constantly looking for opportunities to grow and better themselves; then I believe they are destined to atrophy, and inevitably be usurped by someone who is more qualified and willing to adapt. For instance I was in charge of the activities for the event; through this role I was able to tell the other members what to do, in order to ensure that we reached our goal. Additionally if anything were to have failed during the course of events, it would have been my responsibility to fix it. A good Leader is also a good follower, what I mean bye this is that, as a leader in the real world you will rarely have no superiors. The vast majority of even executive level jobs have somebody who is higher up on the proverbial food chain. I feel as though my role exemplified this duality fairly well, as I was in charge of the activity’s I had no superior in terms of that, however I did have to check in with the group leader, too make sure everything was going according to plan. My group did well in terms of communication and teamwork, and because of this we did not have any issues in terms setting up and running the event.
