This modern world that we all live in, the world that considered to be a western made world, is about to change drastically. in my humble opinion, this century, the twenty first century, is going to be much more different. more and more powerful non western countries are rising nowadays, and soon America will no linger be as dominant as it is this days. moreover, other political entities are rising this days, headed by China are about to threaten America’s status as the worlds leading power.According to Farred Zakaria, America’s unbeatable economic power has lasted for more than a hundred years and its economy has been the largest economy in the whole world for the last hundred and twenty years. therefore, it is indeed quite surprising that in the upcoming few years and decades, the United States economy will face a rival- most likely from the far east- in the guise of China. the …show more content…
it is, and many will agree always has been a big factor of deterring the power of states. military strength actually allows nations to show off their power over other nations, and control the world with great power and military strength. It is well known that the United State actually controls every filled of battle with her powerful armed forces in land, see and air. nevertheless, China, America’s most notable guise in all fields is, in fact, gaining great military power that is now one of the biggest, or even the biggest army all over the plant. Modernization of the Chinese military includes the “three pillars”: development of new weapons systems and capabilities, improving professionalism and quality of Chinese military personnel, and the development of new war-fighting doctrines for using the new capabilities (Shambaugh and Yahuda 2014). The People’s Liberation Army is China’s largest land force and has become a useful policy tool “both in terms of its combat potential and its role in security cooperation” (Shambaugh and Yahuda). An increase in defense spending has also assisted the military’s growth in power and capability (Shambaugh and Yahuda). While the Chinese military has been experiencing growth, China’s economic growth, however, is just as extreme. Economic growth is the main source of China’s power among the Asian countries today.…

In reality China is changing so rapidly that I am afraid America will be able to keep up with China. But China’s rapid growth should not be an intimidating factor for America, and as the author stated “Stop Blaming China and India”.…

My first thought was to reject the idea that morality surrounding marriage and intimacy was dependent of the political climates in Cuba at the time. It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that people's values can change based on the government that they under, rather than just sharing different views than their government like what sometimes happens in a democracy. Then I thought that maybe people's views do stay the same, some are just more prominent than others has politics shift. Again, similar to that of how more trump supporters seem to be open about their views now that republicans run the executive and legislative branch. Then I thought to stop the comparisons to democracy altogether because not every culture can be understood…

These actions included the dismantling and defeat of arising hegemons which could be recognized as majestic Germany between years 1900-1918, the great japan between 1931 to 1945, twelve rising years for Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1945 and lastly the soviet union during the cold war period of 1945 to 1989 (Mearsheimer, 2006). This further portrays the idea that as Americas rise to power was not peaceful, so too will China’s be absent of peace as well. Another part of Mearsheimer’s argument was the idea that the United States will ensure that China’s attempt to establish regional hegemony will be challenged as visibly seen through America’s previous capability of ridding arising regional hegemony’s. Moreover, it can be seen through America’s actions during the old war that challenges to her power was going to aspire violence.…

The relationship between the United States and China will perhaps shape international order more than any other phenomenon. One could argue, though, that competition between the US and China is most acute in the physical space of the Asia-Pacific region. Even though the US has been the transcendent power there for as far back as seven decades now, it is still China's lawn and, going back hundreds of years, the center of its worldview. The South China Sea emerges as a significant chronicle for three sets of interactions: those between the US and China, China and its neighbors, and…

However, the biggest problem of smart power is the threat it poses to the United States as powers such as China and India are effectively transitioning their power to smart power. India has a significant amount of hard power within military resources and soft power with an established democracy and influential popular culture through Bollywood. While India doesn’t have the power resources to be a challenger to the United States on its own, a coalition between India and China could overpower the United States (174). Similarly, China has a major advantage in hard power because it has the largest army and the largest military budget but China also has a major advantage in soft power because it has the highest rate of economic growth and the most Internet users of all the countries (177). As the global hegemony, the United States has both a great deal of power and plenty of responsibility. The United States is recognized all throughout the world as its superpower and it has legitimacy to back it up. Even if we were in a decline from being the global hegemony, no other country comes close to our GDP. Many suggest that China is the next hegemony and that they will be the next authority, but no one can really tell by just using raw data alone. As we discussed the debate of what power really looks like and China’s actual position economically, the hard and soft power and how they are connected to the theories of international relations, and our own smart power policy, we really figure out where the United States stands in keeping its position as the global supremacy.…

For many years, the United States’ economy was known for being the best. America has enjoyed generally robust economic growth throughout most of the Cold War and the subsequent 25 years, and has held its position at the head of the economic table with confidence (Ritter, 2014). Today, many economists believe that the East is on the brink of taking over. Two American allies have joined the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). Since Britain and Australia joined the AIIB, they are effectively endorsing Beijing 's effort to establish financial rivals to the Bretton Woods institutions and the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), which are dominated by America (Bryant, 2015).…
