The 2012 Rogue is a compact crossover SUV that seats five. It comes in two trims: S or SV. The Nissan Rogue has standard front-wheel drive, available all-wheel drive and is powered by a four-cylinder engine paired with an automatic transmission.

Changes for 2012 include a Special Edition package for the base trim, adding several exterior enhancements and tech upgrades. An optional around view monitor is also new.

Behind the front bucket seats is a 60/40 split-bench seat. Standard cargo space measures 28.9 cubic feet, expandable to 57.9 cubic feet with the rear seat folded.

Standard features include full power accessories, a tilt steering column, cloth seats, air conditioning and cargo tie downs. Upgrades include leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power front seats and heated front seats. Options include automatic air conditioning and a cargo management system.

Performance

The 2012 Rogue supplies average acceleration, is easy to maneuver and delivers a comfortable ride. Models equipped with all-wheel drive have the added benefit of supplying maximum grip on slippery roads.

Nissan powers the Rogue with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission.

The 2012 Rogue makes an EPA-estimated 23/28 mpg city/highway or 22/26 mpg with all-wheel drive. When properly equipped, this model has a 1,000-pound towing capacity or 1,500 pounds for the all-wheel drive model.
