2.3 Suffering in the New Testament Suffering in the New Testament has a positive connotation because its complete meaning comes from the suffering and death of Christ on the Cross. Jesus talks not only about suffering theoretically but through His endurance, completes the meaning of it. When Jesus talks about suffering and evil, it does not have origin from the Father, rather it is introduced by the enemy of this world who is Satan. “While everyone was asleep, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat.” Therefore it is not natural to the world and to the human being.
