An extracurricular activity I have participated in is 1Mission. 1Mission is a non-profit organization that builds houses for families living in poverty in Mexico. Three times I have participated in a 1Mission trip, and each time I have learned a plethora of life lessons. 1Mission has taught me that materialistic items do not garner happiness. In fact, I could own every type of sports car that exists, but those items don’t bring the same contentment and comfort that relationships can bring. The reality is that possessions will never be able to fill someone’s heart the same way unconditional love can. 1 Mission has taught me that the best things in life are not things.
