Year: 1984 Dear myself, When you read this you have probably been through a lot and you won’t even remember that you have written this letter. That is exactly the reason why I am writing this letter to you at this moment, to help you remember what your feelings were and what the actual truth is. Hopefully, you thoroughly believe what I’ am saying and become the same Winston again as you used to be… You have committed various crimes that have lead to your ‘vaporation’ as the Party calls it. As a result of this, horrible things happened to you in the Ministry of Love. Assumingly, you have been brainwashed and brutally tortured in room 101. You have always doubted the existence of Big Brother and had extreme hater towards him, which may …show more content…
I don’t even know if it even is neither 1984 nor April as there are no calendars accessible or anything else from which you can state the date. You had to hide from the telescreens in your room while writing in the notebook. The telescreens are constantly keeping an eye on you, remember this Winston. At one point you looked down at the notebook and saw that you wrote down ‘Down with Big Brother’ all over the page; you had committed a Thought Crime. Sooner or later they were coming for you. At this moment I’m in the possession of their book. This book talks about bringing down Big Brother. Emmanuel Goldstein found the Brotherhood and wrote this book. However, people don’t know where he is or if he even is alive. Our plan is to join this Brotherhood and start a revolution against Big Brother. This will sound insane to you as you read this, as you are a loyal subject of Big Brother. But think about it, the society we live in controlled by Big Brother is outrageous and should be changed! Presently I am in great danger and soon the Thought police will come for us and bring us to the Ministry of Love. I’m in lots of fear...
