Information is very powerful the more information one has in theory the more power a person has, this was the policy of the government in the novel (Orwell) where the main character Winston smith every move is being monitored, watched meticulously by the telescreen, drones, children and even his neighbors “The telescreen received and transmitted simultaneously”(Orwell 3) the concept of freedom almost became propaganda itself. In the short story (Harrison Bergeron) the word equality had been turned into a euphemism for restrictions in a society where being beautiful was a bad thing or having any distinctive qualities in general. The idea sounded good much like communism on paper no one has any advantages over anyone but, at the same time everyone is different, but according the government whose power is absolute and is not to be questioned by anyone. In a similar fashion the film the (Matrix) the citizens are under constant surveillance by the system and the agents of the system the same agents that restrict their lives in the real world also in the virtual world dictating their daily lives.
