It is supposedly used to track down criminals and use their private information to incarcerate them, such as record phone calls, pull up old text messages and emails, Then again what makes us think they don’t look through our stuff even if we’re not suspected of anything. They even referred to as one of their technologies as a “sniffer”. This compares to the government in the book because they violated people’s privacy for no reason, listening into their conversations, having to put notes into pens in order to communicate privately. “Data is shared with companies that use it to offer us services they think we want” They are tapping into our phones to figure out what the people want and what they will make to sell to us. Make all your conversations in person and watch what offending things you send to someone because it can be used against you. Phone companies can sell your information out to the government or anyone who wants to know what you would be interested in buying. “The best option is to use cash for prepaid cell phones that don’t require identification.” Phone companies record your name down for every phone you buy and your phone number always will have a name to it. Smart criminals are known for owning prepaid cell phones and that is how they last longer to get caught. Of course prepaid cell phones are more of a drag to own because you don’t only pay once a month, you have to keep putting credit in it. The best way is to ditch our phones completely.
