Feminism From 1970 and 1980 To Now The people and events from the 1970’s and 1980’s have greatly influenced feminism today. During this time period women reemerged as more rebellious to traditional female roles. Feminism is “The belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of the political, economic and social equality of the sexes.” (Watson 2015). The second wave of Feminism was during this time period. Feminism used different forms of media and entertainment to get its point in the open. One way the feminist movement got the message across was through literature.
