As a senator, he had to vote on many laws. JFK always kept the blue collars in mind and voted for what he knew would best help them. Not only did he have the laborers in mind, but he also had African Americans in mind. He was one of the key people in the fight for equality for black citizens. What did blue collars and African Americans have in common? The fact that they were underrepresented in government. Very few politicians had plans in mind for the lower class and blacks. When Nixon voted on laws, he did not keep these people and their needs in mind. The president of the United States needs to keep everyone in mind when he makes decisions. If the president had only kept the upper class in mind, then the lower class and middle class would have struggled. If they had only kept the lower class in mind, the upper class would have struggled. If they had only kept whites in mind, blacks would continue to be treated unfairly. If you only keep blacks in mind, all the other discriminated against groups would have suffered.(C) In the end it was a tight race. Nixon won 26 states and Kennedy won 23. Kennedy won over the popular vote, but only by a slim margin of 100,000 votes. The winner was John F. Kennedy. I think that this was the right outcome for the United States. It was how I would’ve voted because he had charisma, he had big plans to jet America into the future, and he voted for everyone, not just the upper
