Flappers and the 1920’s
The 1920’s was an era of change in many ways. Women won the right to vote and more jobs became available for them. Drinking and smoking became popular among women. Flappers liked to go out with friends and have fun. Some women became Flappers and their fashion changed dramatically. Young people gained more freedom. One of the freedoms that came about was that women began focusing on their own lives and what they wanted to do personally rather than having to focus on getting married and having children. Another freedom was women were granted the right to vote.
