Introduction Paragraph Israel Rosen, a male who passed away to the 1911 factory fire. Israel was 17 years old at the time of the factory fire. Israel was born in Russia and lived in the united states for 3 years and he was a union member. After Israel Rosen’s death, he was buried at Mt Zion Cemetery on March 31st, 1911. In my essay, I will be blaming the factory owners. I am blaming the factory owners because I feel like the factory owners are the cause of the 146 deaths. I say this because the factory owners left the exit doors locked and never had safety regulations, as in fire drills.

For example, in this article named ‘lessons from the triangle shirt waist factory fire-osha’. They argue about the owners of how they are the cause of 146 deaths. It says “The triangle shirtwaist fire of 1911 took the lives of 146 garment workers because of the lack of adequate safety precautions in the factory in which they worked in New York City”. This shows that the owners didn’t do any fire drills or show people/workers what to do during a fire. They should have showed workers how to react and what to do during a fire because no one would’ve panicked and everyone could’ve gotten out safely. Another point that supports my argument is from a very helpful article named ‘United States Department of Labor’. In this article, they talk about the factory’s horrible machinery and poor fire protection. It says here on the United States Department of Labor page that, “Rapid changes in technology and economic conditions discouraged owners from making heavy investment in well-designed plant and equipment. Older plants had very poor fire protection. Machinery guarding lighting and sanitary conditions often were bad”. This shows owners had poor fire protection items because that also could’ve caused the factory fire. For the reasons above, the owners were to blame for the deaths of the workers because they were having machinery that were horrible and poor fire

When our firemen get called about a fire they go in their truck and rush to the house to put out the fire and help people survive. In Fahrenheit 451, the firemen did not do that. They rushed to the person's house and took out all of the books because they were not allowed to have books and burn them in a pile. After the books were burned, they also burn down the home itself. They let the owner leave the house to safety before they burn it, but sometimes the owner risks their own life and burn with the house because they did not want to deal with the consequences.…

In the non-fictional excerpt of Flesh and Blood So Cheap, Marrin utilizes explicit details to make his ideas clear, and implicit details to imply failures in safety standards. Using these techniques, Marrin illustrates the tragedy of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory that resulted from unsafe work protocol and sparked a movement to reform safety standards for employees, whose lives were not a priority in the fire. By using explicit details, Albert Marrin expresses his opinion clearly and supports it. The title of the book, Flesh and Blood So Cheap, insists that human life wasn’t valued, while the subtitle, The Triangle Fire and Its Legacy, states the topic and shows the author’s belief that the Triangle Fire left a lasting impact on America. Also, the name of Chapter V is “Holocaust,” which means, “destruction or slaughter on a mass scale, especially caused by fire or nuclear war.” If the denotation did not make his thoughts clear enough, the word also carries an extremely negative connotation.…

One example of a negative effect socially was how people were having to deal with improper and unfair living conditions. For example, in document #6 it states that they had no clean healthy water. Also, they could not afford to pay the builders to provide for pipes so instead they had to throw away their sweepings, garbage, dirty water, and filth into the streets. This example shows the social effects of the Industrial Revolution were negative because people went through multiple hours of hard work and still can’t can’t afford things like pipes. Also, due to the fact that there was no clean water, plenty of people must’ve gotten seriously ill. Another unfair and negative point that demonstrates the negativity of the social part of the revolution was the fact that the they had no clean water to drink.…
